The Sassy Girls Had their Spasso, Have You Yet?

The Sassy Girls had their spasso (means fun in Italian) already, have you yet? Give us a visit.

Sassy’s Team Lunches with Giftwell’s Foodie Gift Card!

As our team grows we love to get together every once in a while (away from our laptops!) for a catch up… and of course to share some delicious food! Designated Sassy social chair, Simran, lined up three fabulous team lunches for us over the summer, all with the help of Giftwell’s Foodie Gift Card Subscription

If you’re a major foodie like us, then you’ve got to check out this awesome subscription, which gives you a surprise gift card to a number of Hong Kong’s best restaurants.

Our first team lunch in July was at Wan Chai’s Divino Patio, and we were lucky to bag such a big table during the busy lunch time rush. We were all treated to the scrumptious salad bar, which included cold cuts, cheese and other antipasti delights. We could then choose from one of the pizza and pasta choices on the lunch menu, both of which were delicious… most of us were pretty full, but we were treated to the cutest mini espresso ice-cream cones before we had to dash off back to the office!

The second team lunch took us over to Kowloon side, where we enjoyed Spasso’s salad bar and Italian lunch time fare. This light and airy restaurant is perfect for a casual lunch, and you can’t complain with a view overlooking the harbour!

Everyone stocked up on the variety of salads and cheeses before tucking into a choice of pasta or pizza. Again, we couldn’t fault the food and left feeling happy and full!

There was no better way to welcome our first Sassy Boy Bryan Chen to the office than with an invigorating Italian meal at Divino on Wyndham Street for our final Foodie Gift Card lunch!

You won’t find the heaviness typical of Italian fare here, even the pastas were pleasantly light and the mozzarella and tomato salad drizzled with pesto was amazing. Serving a group of over ten girls (and guy!) was no small feat, but the team at Divino was so lovely and accommodating. The laid back vibe of the place was perfect for unwinding on a Friday and we’ll definitely be back!

Thanks to Divino and Spasso for the delicious meals and thanks to Giftwell for providing the goods with their awesome Foodie Gift Card! If you’ve got any food-lovers in your life, this is the ideal present. We’ve already got our eye on them for Christmas …

Available for purchase here. Choose from a 3-month, 6-month, 9-month, or 12-month gift ranging from $500-$2,000, www.giftwell.hk/foodie-gift-card-subscription.

Thank you Sassy for the story: http://www.sassyhongkong.com/sassy-team-lunche-giftwell-foodie-gift-card-eatdrink/

What Sassy Wants: September

Summer may be ‘officially’ over, but we’re lucky to still be enjoying a good dose of sunshine here in HK. This month we’re all about the zen – time to relax and keep calm before the onslaught of the holiday season. You might not be in your Balinese villa by the pool, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep that sense of serenity with you! We’ve rounded up some of our must-haves for this month… and trust us, you’ll want these goodies to keep you sane this September. It’s all in this month’s What Sassy Wants!

1. We absolutely adore Caudalie at Sassy – this French beauty brand uses the powerful properties of grapes to create gorgeous products that smell and feel divine – and most importantly, they work! Trust us, we’ve tried them! The spa on Gough Street not only does wonderfully relaxing facials but also sells their fantastic skincare and scents (see our review here). We couldn’t wait to get our hands on their new Parfum Divin de Caudalie, which comes in a beautiful bottle and really does smell divine. The sun-kissed, woody frangrance has notes of pink pepper, grapefruit, rose, cedar wood and vanilla, making it pretty unique. If you want to smell like a heavenly spa all day, this is the scent for you!

Available here for $480 (50ml bottle) or at the Caudalie Boutique; 3 Gough Street, Central, Hong Kong, 2319 1006, www.facebook.com/CaudalieHK.

5. Keep it clean this month by indulging in a brand new, Hong Kong-based ethical skincare line – Purearth. Ok… we have to admit it, we’ve fallen a little bit in love with this brand already and it hasn’t even launched yet! Purearth not only creates luxury products that use amazing materials straight from the Himalayas, but also gives back by promoting “a culture of conscious consumption”. The ingredients in these products are made from natural resources and are free from chemicals, keeping all the products pure – good for your skin and the environment. We can’t wait to try the Wild Rose Himalayan Face Mist, perfect for spritzing on during a hot and humid day for a refresh. To top it all off, Purearth is a social enterprise that works with women’s self-help groups in the Himalayas, empowering them through fair trade.

6. Ok, so the mercury is still pretty high here in HK, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start thinking about our fall/winter outfits! Time to put away the flip flops and start donning some sturdier shoes for the start of cooler climes – and we’ve found the perfect new additions for your wardrobe! SASSY’s GUIDE TO CELEBRATING CHINESE NEW YEAR 2015 IN HONG KONG

We’ve just recovered from Christmas and New Year, only to realise that it’s time for our second New Year… that’s right, January and February have gone by in a blink of an eye (kind of like this whole year!) and it’s now time to welcome the Year of the Sheep!

This is a magical time of the year for Hong Kongers – either you make use of the public holidays by jetting off on that much-need beach vacay, or stay in the ‘Kong to spend time with friends and family. If you opt for the latter, then we’ve got you covered with our Sassy Guide to Chinese New Year 2015 in Hong Kong! Read on to find out all you need to know about celebrating this time of the year in the 852… from festive field trips and foodie treats to carnivals, gifts and more!

Chinese New Year Themed Gifts

Festive time is gift and décor time! Rather than covering your home entirely in red and gold drapes, or hitting Temple Street for cheesy souvenirs and joke gifts, how about some CNY-themed gifts that are that little bit sassier?

Sift
One of our favourite bakeries is doing gift boxes with deliciously sweet treats all in the name of bringing good luck! Ring in the new year with a fortune cooking box (come on, who wouldn’t love to receive an extra dose of good fortune?!), or a chocolate flower and gold coin sandwich which is a perfect gift for kids. The refreshing Kung Hei Fat Choi blackcurrant tart makes a great pudding, too.

Nespresso
Any coffee addicts out there? You’ll love this special promotion from Nespresso with ‘Demon Chef’ Alvin Leung! Candied Fish x Teakha Tea Set
More of a tea lover than a coffee connoisseur? You’ll love the CNY Tea Almanac set from Candied Fish and Plantation. The set includes 15 packs of carefully chosen teas, all of which have a Chinese New Year story behind them that they are inspired by. The packs come in a beautiful bamboo box, and you’ll find each pack adorned with a unique Chinese design that can even be re-used as coasters. We tried the Eight Treasure Tea, which was so unique and tasted divine! The whole set costs $688 and is available at one of our favourite tea houses, Teakha.
