LGB (short for Le Goûter Bernaudaud) is one of our favorite hideaways for a coffee break away from the crowds in the nearby Landmark and IFC. This is the newest of the LGB cafes and sits in the same building as the Gap, Lupa, and Carnevino. The original concept of LGB was to bring the modern Parisian tea salon to the rest of the world. There are 20 different gourmet French teas to choose from, as well as decadent pastries and desserts. The major draw at LGB are the macarons which come in every flavor you can think of - 16 to be exact! From pistachio, cafe, chocolate, banana, to rose, black sesame, and even earl grey tea. Recommend a seat near the window that offers a full view of the back of the historical Pedder Building that you rarely get to see from above the ground. If you love relaxing in a comfortable, modern, stylish cafe setting suggestive of European cafe culture, this is the place for you.
